Refunds & Cancellations Policy

Effective Date: [Month Day, Year]

At Black Wealth Events, we value your commitment to our programs and plan each event based on expected attendance. This Refunds & Cancellations Policy outlines our terms for ticket purchases and event registrations. By purchasing a ticket or registering for a paid event, you agree to the following policy.

No Refunds – All Sales Are Final

All purchases are non-refundable. Once you have bought a ticket or registration for an event, that sale is final. We do not offer refunds for any reason, including but not limited to: personal schedule conflicts, change of mind, illness, travel issues, weather, or any other circumstances that prevent you from attending the event.

We emphasize this policy upfront to ensure clarity: please only purchase a ticket if you are sure you can attend, and review all event details (date, time, location, content) before completing your order. If you are unsure, you may wait to register closer to the event date (subject to ticket availability), but once a purchase is made, it is final.

Transfers and Exchanges

Tickets and registrations are generally non-transferable. The name on the ticket should match the attendee. We do not support self-service transfers or exchanges of tickets to different events or dates. Each event is a unique offering, and tickets are only valid for the specified event.

However, we understand that genuine emergencies or conflicts can arise. While we maintain a strict no-refund policy, limited exceptions for transfer may be considered as a courtesy in our sole discretion:

  • If you can no longer attend, you may request to transfer your ticket to another person (like a colleague or friend). This request must be made in writing to [support@blackwealthevents.com] at least [X] days before the event, with the full name and contact information of the person who will take your place. Transfers are not guaranteed; they require approval from Black Wealth Events. If approved, the new attendee will be subject to all our terms and policies.
  • We typically do not allow transfers to a different event. For example, if you bought a ticket for Event A, you cannot swap it for a ticket to Event B. Tickets are event-specific.

Please note that any exception or accommodation we make (such as allowing a transfer) is a one-time courtesy and does not waive our standard policy for future transactions.

Event Cancellation or Postponement by Us

While attendee-initiated cancellations are not refundable, if Black Wealth Events cancels or significantly changes an event, the following will apply:

  • Event Cancellation: If we must cancel an event entirely and do not reschedule it, we will notify all ticket holders as soon as possible. In such a case, Black Wealth Events will offer either a full refund of the ticket price or a credit of equal value to be used towards a future Black Wealth Events program, at our discretion. We will provide instructions in the cancellation notice on how refunds/credits will be processed. (For example, refunds might be issued automatically to the original payment method within a certain timeframe.) Our liability is limited to the amount of the ticket price; we are not responsible for additional expenses you may have incurred (such as travel or accommodation).
  • Event Postponement/Rescheduling: If an event is postponed or rescheduled to a new date, your existing ticket will typically be honored for the new date. We will inform you of the change and your options. If you cannot attend the rescheduled date, we may offer a credit for a future event. Refunds for rescheduled events are generally not provided unless we decide to cancel the event outright.
  • Material Changes: If there’s a significant change to the event’s format or content (for example, the event moves from in-person to virtual due to unforeseen circumstances, or a headline speaker cancels), we will try to communicate the change. Such changes do not usually warrant a refund since the event is still being delivered, but we will handle on a case-by-case basis. In most cases, changes in speakers or agenda do not entitle ticket holders to a refund as schedules can evolve.

Any refunds that are approved (in the rare cases outlined above) will be issued only to the original purchaser and via the original payment method when possible. Please allow a reasonable processing time for refunds to appear, as payment processors may take several business days to return funds.

No-Show Policy

If you fail to attend an event for which you are registered (a “no-show”), you are not entitled to any refund, credit, or makeup session. The benefits of the ticket (access to content, networking, etc.) are forfeited if not used. We cannot apply a missed event’s ticket as credit to another event unless we have explicitly offered that in writing.

Force Majeure

In cases of force majeure (e.g., natural disasters, widespread emergencies, pandemics, government orders, or other events beyond our reasonable control) that impact the event, Black Wealth Events will make decisions in line with safety and feasibility. We may cancel, postpone, or convert an event to a virtual format in such situations. Our standard policy of no refunds still applies; however, we will endeavor to treat our customers fairly. For instance, if an in-person event is canceled due to a hurricane or public health emergency, we might offer ticket holders a credit to a rescheduled or virtual event. Any such measures will be communicated accordingly, but this clause affirms that no refunds will be due if the cancellation/postponement is due to circumstances beyond our control.

How to Cancel Your Own Registration (Understanding No Refund)

If for whatever reason you cannot attend, you can let us know that you won’t be there (for planning purposes on our end), but again, no refund will be issued. You can cancel your registration by contacting us at [support@blackwealthevents.com] or following any instructions in your confirmation email (some ticketing platforms have a “cancel registration” function, but that does not trigger a refund; it simply frees up a spot and notifies us that you won’t attend). Cancelling your registration in this way is optional – it’s a courtesy that helps us anticipate headcount or possibly allow someone from a waitlist to fill your spot – but it does not entitle you to money back.
